Programme
Bangiya Sahitya Parishad, a social cultural organization , Jail Road will organise a thanksgiving programme on July 27 at 6 pm in its auditorium to express gratitude to all the people who helped and contributed to the organization in the last few years. The annual general body meeting will be held on July 28 at the auditorium.

Celebration
Lady Keane College will celebrate its 84th College foundation day on July 25 at 10 am in the college Sports Complex. The first floor of the academic block V under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA 1.0) for professional courses cum valediction day for degree semester VI students 2019 will also be inaugurated.

Symposium
Meghalaya Basin Development Authority will organise a national symposium on “Opportunities and Challenges for Organic Potato in Meghalaya and other Northeastern Indian States: Research, Business and Policy Perspectives” will be held on July 29 at Banquet Hall, Pinewood Hotel.

Rice released
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Supply), Amlarem Sub Division has informed the public that rice under AAY, NFSA (PHH) and Non-NFSA for July has been released and will be distributed through Fair Price Shops. Rice under AAY will be issued at the scale of 35 kgs per household, NFSA (PHH) at the scale of 5 kgs per head.

Cultural event
As part of the 12th Inter Shillong Cultural Event, 2019 Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban is organising marathon, art, essay, quiz & fun games on July 28 and dance on hindi song competition on August 4. It will be held at R. B. Anup Chand Hindi Secondary school, Keating Road. Spot entry is also available. The topic of art competition for nursery and KG is paint a given object, Class 1-2 draw as you like, Class 3-4 fruit basket, Class 5-6 any scenery, Class 7-8 village life with human figure, Class 9-10 natural calamities.
