SHILLONG: Members of Meghalaya Other Backward Classes Association on Saturday submitted a memorandum to chief minister Conrad Sangma at his official residence, a release issued here said.
In the memorandum, the association highlighted the grievances of the other backward classes of Meghalaya.
The association also apprised the chief minister that the Deputy Commissioners of the districts had stopped issuing OBC certificate after 2004 thereby causing colossal loss to one generation of OBC for the last 15 years.
Reservation of seats in educational institutions and job quota and other benefits and privileges as provided under the constitution of India has been affected due to non issuance of the OBC certificate, they said.
Meanwhile, Sangma has assured the association that he will look into the matter.
