BSF on alert for I-day

SHILLONG: The Border Security Force (BSF) will strengthen its security apparatus along the Indo-Bangla border in view of the upcoming Independence Day.
A top BSF official said that deployment along the border will be augmented and gaps plugged.
Stating that the BSF will be on alert during the period, the official, however, informed that there are no reports of any suspicious movement along the border.
Meghalaya shares a 443 -km boundary with Bangladesh with almost 100 km of it unfenced which makes it vulnerable to smuggling and human infiltration.
