Imphal: Eight Myanmarese nationals were arrested by Assam Rifles from the Indo-Myanmar border town of Moreh town in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district as they did not have valid travel documents, police said on Wednesday.
Three of the Myanmarese were apprehended by the AR personnel while they were trying to sneak into Myanmar, a police officer said.
The other five were arrested from a hotel in Moreh town on Tuesday night, he said, adding investigations were on. On August 10 the police arrested six Rohingyas from Imphal Airport.
The six had arrived from New Delhi with forged documents. (PTI)
