SHILLONG: The Ri War circle of Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) and Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) have apprehended two Bangladeshi migrants who attempted to enter the state from Dawki.
When the two organisations enquired, the intruders identified themselves as Mahammad Tubelmia and Mahammad Abdul Rahaman from Dungria Sanamgon village of Bangladesh who entered Meghalaya in search of jobs.
The organisations handed over the two to the authorities for necessary action.
On the other hand, the organisations have urged the government to be extra vigilant in the border areas as the residents there complain of Bangladeshis committing thefts and damaging crops.
The two organisations will meet the higher authorities to ensure that security is provided for the people living in the border areas.
