WJH SP asks citizens to keep order

JOWAI: In pursuance of section 101 of Meghalaya Police Act 2010, West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police, Lakador Syiem requested all citizens of the district to keep order in public roads, streets and all tourist spots within the district. The citizens should desist from causing obstruction, injury or annoyance to passersby or polluting and littering, the SP said.
Syiem informed that if any person found not obeying the lawful orders issued maybe arrested and on conviction by a Court of law, he or she will be liable to a fine of Rs, 5000.
The order also stated that all tourists visiting tourist spots in the district are advised to carry ‘Garbage Bags’ in their vehicles. The SP added that the Jaintia Hills district police anticipate the cooperation from the public as well as the tourists visiting the district.
