St. Mary’s observes National Nutrition Week

SHILLONG: The Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, St Mary’s College, Shillong  celebrated National Nutrition Week from September 1 to 7.
The department conducted an inter-departmental programme with the theme ‘Fun with Fruits’ on September 3.
A total of twelve departments participated in the competition and on September 6, a nutrition and health education outreach programme for adolescents was conducted at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School.
The purpose of the programme was to increase awareness and educate adolescents on how to combat stress, eat healthy and include physical activity in their day to day lives.
The audiences were mainly high school and college students.
Sessions were very informative and interactive as they aimed to not only improve the health of the students but their academic performance as well.
