MAWKYRWAT: The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Border Area Circle has expressed concern over the problems faced by the people of Balat area in South West Khasi Hills due to frequent power cut.
General Secretary of the HNYF Border Area Circle, Innocent Jyrwa said that the general public has expressed disappointment over the frequent power cut in the area where electricity is provided from 5 to 9 pm only.
Jyrwa said that one employee of the Feedback Energy Distribution Co. Ltd. (FEDCO) informed that the frequent power cut was due to the irresponsibility of MeECL employees as they (FEDCO employees) were still under the control of the MeECL.
While condemning the employees of FEDCO and MeECL for not performing their duties, Jyrwa said that the people of Balat area are paying the electricity bills every month, but the service that they provided was too not equivalent.
Jyrwa said that the HNYF demanded the employees who do not perform their duties well should be immediately transferred from the area.
