Demand to repair NH-6

JOWAI: The Dorbar Shnong – village council of Umkiang village in East Jaintia Hills has demanded the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Gr Infrastructure Limited (GRIL) to repair the portion of the road within Umkiang area. It informed that the road is in a pathetic condition and it has created inconvenience to passers-by particularly school students.
Headman of the village, Lasting Pala slammed the NHAI and GRIL for their failure in repairing the dilapidated road.
“We are giving one-week time to fix it and if they fail to fulfil our demand we will take our own course of action”, he said.
