Petrol bombs hurled
Dilip Dutta lodged a complaint that on October 15 around 2 am, unknown miscreant(s) hurled two petrol bombs at one Assam-type house at Quinton Road, with an intention to intimidate the occupants of the above-mentioned house and causing danger to their lives/property. Reportedly, one of the petrol bombs exploded.
Assault
Major Mohit Wadhwa, BMO, ARC, Happy Valley, Shillong lodged a complaint that on October 16, between 6:45 pm and 7:10 pm, while he was repairing a punctured tyre of his vehicle at a tyre shop, one unidentified person in a scooty demanded the former’s vehicle to be removed from the spot as the place belong to the latter and also used indecent language. Later, 5-10 persons physically attacked him. However, the complainant and his wife managed to escape.
Lida Nongspung of Smit, EKH, lodged a complaint that her 26-year-old son viz., Ashanbor Nongspung (reportedly a drug-addict), sold the household items and also harassed and assaulted the complainant, when she failed to provide monetary aid to him.
Ramu Chettri lodged a complaint that on October 13 around 7 pm, while he was proceeding towards his residence at Lumshyiap, Nongmensong, his wife viz., Sumanta Chettri quarreled with him and assaulted him. Further, his brother-in-law viz., Hemanta Chettri also assaulted him.
Rijansuk Nangbah lodged a complaint that on October 11 around 7:28 pm, one Rideihok Suchiang threatened and assaulted her son viz., Widaeiman Nangbah at Nongkynrih village, WJH.
Duped
Pynshngain Wann lodged a complaint that in May 2015, he had sold his Mahindra Scorpio vehicle (ML-12-3456) to one Sana Jaoba Moaroibam of Imphal, Manipur, through one Krishna Biswa for Rs 11 lakh, for which Rs 5 lakh was received as an advance payment and the remaining amount was supposed to be paid later. However, the complainant learnt that his vehicle has been sold to one Theko Moro of BSNL Quarter, Rynjah, Shillong, without any valid documents. It is also learnt from the complainant that the accused (Sana Jaoba Moaroibam) had cheated and threatened him.
Theft
W Kharshiing lodged a complaint that on October 9, 11, 13 and 14, unknown miscreant(s) stole taps from the bathrooms of the Wards and OPD of Woodland Hospital, Dhankheti.
Salim L Sangma lodged a complaint that on October 16, unknown miscreant(s) stole 72 mobile tower batteries from Mihmyntdu, Lumpyrdi, WJH.
On October 14 night, unknown miscreant(s) stole 24 batteries from a mobile tower at Sohmynting village, West Jaintia Hills.
On October 14 around 7 pm, one unidentified miscreant snatched cash Rs. 7,000 from Nandu Chanda in Jail Road and fled away.
On October 16, Tisda Kharsohnoh noticed that one Kevin Marboh (18) was coming out of her house at Mawlynrei, Khliehshnong, and fleeing away. Later, she learnt that her wallet containing Rs. 20,000 was missing.
Fraudulent call
Lasarin R Marak of Siju Do’bakkol village, SGH, lodged a complaint on September 30 that she received one anonymous phone call, in which the caller informed that she has won diamond rings, gold rings and more than Rs. 1 crore in cash, and also instructed her to pay Rs. 85,000 to the unknown caller. Next day, she received another anonymous phone call asking her to deposit the amount in the account of one Marthin P Konyak, or else he would submit the items to the Police for which she would be required to deposit another Rs. 35,000 in the same account.
Crops destroyed
V Renthlei, District Horticulture Officer, East Garo Hills, Williamnagar lodged a complaint that on September 8, 10 and 25, unknown miscreant(s) destroyed standing crop, plants, seedlings, etc., by using chemical at Samgong Horticulture Hub, EGH.
