CPI condoles death of AITUC leader

SHILLONG: The public meeting held at the office of CPI, Shillong and presided over by MN Bhattacharjee on Saturday mourned the demise of Gurudas Das Gutpa, the former general secretary of AITUC and MP. Gupta passed away on October 31 in Kolkata.
In a statement issued here, secretary of CPI S.Gupta said that the late leader had championed the cause of the working class inside and outside the Parliament. The leaders who spoke on the occasion included CPI leader Samudra Gupta, trade union leader J L Das, party leaders, T M Sangma, R Thabah, Manoj Chakraborty, and F. Nongkynrih. The meeting decided to send a copy of the resolution regarding the condolence to the family of the bereaved.
