MAWKYRWAT: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU), South West Khasi Hills District, has condemned the recent harassment of two children below 12 years and cautioned parents against sending their children to stay with others to avoid such incidents.
The president of the KSU SWKH unit Forwardman Nongrem said that such harassment of innocent children is a clear violation of child rights and human rights.
Nongrem also called upon the parents to avoid sending their under-aged children to stay with others to avoid any form of violence against them.
Nongrem also appreciated the efforts of the Child Welfare Committee of East Khasi Hills District, chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Meena Kharkongor and Ranikor MLA Pius Marwein for their aid to rescue the children.
The KSU also appreciated the efforts of the police for the immediate arrest of the woman who allegedly abused them.
Nongrem also urged people not to spread the pictures of the children on social media.
