Miscreant attacks teen with knife
Shyamal Saha lodged a complaint that on December 21 around 9.30 pm, an unidentified person attacked his son viz., Subra Saha (19) with a knife at New Bhaitbari, West Garo Hills, causing grievous injuries to him. Same day, around 11.30 pm, miscreants went to his house and locked the door from outside.
Unauthorised withdrawal
Mon Kumar Sunar lodged a complaint that on December 24 around 6 pm, miscreants fraudulently withdrew Rs. 99,990 from his SBI account (through online) using SBI UPI. Following this, the complainant informed SBI Help Line and requested to block his ATM card. However, on December 25, Rs. 49,995 was withdrawn again from his account.
Cola-laden truck found
On December 23, Police at Ummulong BH was informed that one truck broke down at Mookyndur, Wah Mynso, NH-6 in West Jaintia Hills, causing huge traffic jam at the place. During enquiry, it was found that the truck (WB-23E-3010) was loaded with coal in violation of NGT order.
Rs 6 lakh stolen from residence
Wallambok Singh Kynjing lodged a complaint that on January 1 around 12 pm, miscreants broke into his house at Lumbasuk-B, Lawjynriew, Nongthymmai, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 6 lakh (approx).
Theft
Sample Sympli lodged a complaint that on January 1 around 4 pm, miscreants broke into her house at Lummawrie, Laitumkhrah, Shillong and stole one gold ring valued around Rs. 15,000.
Minty Talukdar lodged a complaint that on December 31, 2019 between 3.30 pm and 3.45 pm, two persons stole his motorcycle which was parked at Upper New Colony, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. The incident was captured in the CCTV.
Joseph Haokip lodged a complaint that on December 29, miscreants stole his scooty (ML-05L-4439), which was parked at Lower New Colony, Boyce Road, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Two apprehended for ‘drug dealing’
D Thongni, secretary of VDP Mawkyrwat and M Nongsiej, general secretary of Ka Seng Bhalang ki Longkmie, Mawkyrwat lodged a complaint that on December 31, two persons identified as Darsning Wanniang and Ronal Lyngdoh were apprehended, on suspicious of drug dealing at Riat Thawlong, South West Khasi Hills.
Office ransacked
Fr. Kitbok Carolus Khongrymmai lodged a complaint that on December 29, around 4.45 pm, miscreants ransacked the office of MIIT Building, Shillong and stole one mobile phone and cash around Rs. 200.
Body found
Dead body of a woman was found from Mawiong Rim, on January 1 and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong for postmortem. Authorities request the general public to come and identify the body which is lying in the hospital morgue.
