BSF installs street solar lights

SHILLONG: The 123 BN BSF organised an inauguration programme of street solar lights installation under civic action scheme at Umnuih Tmar village and Thang Sngi Bazar in East Khasi Hills District on Thursday.
The Commandant 123 BN BSF, Rajashekar KN, visited the site and inaugurated the project in the presence of headmen and around 500 locals.
Rajashekar also interacted with the locals during his visit. He said the BSF places a high priority on the welfare of border residents. He also assured that the BSF would continue providing such facilities towards improvement of the border residents.
The project was developed keeping into consideration the day-to-day needs of the border residents.
The free solar light connection will benefit the remotely located border villages and villagers of Umnuih Tmar and Thang Sngi Bazar.
The villagers, on the other hand, had also expressed their gratitude to the BSF for the initiative.
