IMFL
In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills District conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts where during the month of December 2019, detected 24 cases with a seizure of 102.180 litres of i/d liquor and 13.260 litres IMFL. In this connection 18 persons were arrested.

Procession
The annual Eucharistic Procession of St. Mary’s Parish, Mawpat, Shillong will be held at Mawlong village near Umsawli (NEIGRIHMS) on Sunday. The function will start at 9.30 am with lauds which will followed by the Holy Mass. The Procession will begin at 1.30 pm.

Condolences
The Shillong Bar Association has condoled the demise of two advocates Mohan Massar Diengdoh and Genius S. Marak. In a meeting, the association expressed condolences and conveyed condolence message to the bereaved family.

Unclaimed body
The East Khasi Hills SP has informed that on January 31 around 10.45 am one male body was found in semi decomposed condition hanging in MES jungle near CWE Office Rynjah. The deceased is about 40-45 years of age, 5.5 ft tall, swarthy complexion and was wearing army colour sweater with green colour t-shirt, blue t-shirt, grey track pant and grey shocks. The SP has appealed to all concerned who can identify the deceased are requested to contact Police Control Room, Shillong- 0364-2222214/2222215. The body is at Civil Hospital Morgue Room.
