SHILLONG: The Indian Medical Association National President, Dr Rajan Sharma has asserted that the country is well prepared to tackle Coronavirus, a deadly virus which has led to the death of hundreds of people in neighbouring China.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Dr Sharma said that the IMA’s stand on the virus is very clear and is in tandem with the Union government. He also said the association would also help the member states to tackle the virus if anyone is infected.
Informing that the IMA has opened screening of people, he added that people have to be alert even as he added that the government has issued advisories on the virus.
“We are prepared for it and we are going to hold a meeting with other medical associations to discuss about our preparedness,” he said.
