Movement shunned along Nagaland intl border

KOHIMA: The Deputy Commissioner of Mon district of Nagaland, Thavaseelan K, as per the directives of the state government, has strictly prohibited people crossing the international border between India and Myanmar.
An order issued on February 14 stated that in view of the reported outbreak of Novel Corona Virus (nCoV) in China and other countries and on declaration of the same as a international health emergency by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the directive is necessitated in the interest of public health and safety. The WHO has classified nCoV a global threat.
The deputy commissioner further informed that the order will remain active till further notice. The virus emerged in Wuhan, the capital city of China’s Hubei province in late December and the latest figures show it has infected more than 63,000 people and has killed some 1,300 patients, mostly in China.
