Space on Wheels to attract Meghalaya students

North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Department of Space, Government of India.
Umiam is organising Vikram Sarabhai Centenary Celebration Programme on February 25  and 26. Students from different schools of Meghalaya are welcome to visit and experience the vibrant and enriching programme on Space Technology & its applications of NESAC on February 26 from 10  am to 4 pm.
PL.N Raju, Director NESAC informed that there will be exhibitions of ISRO launch vehicles & satellite models, display boards & video shows on space related activities.
There will be technology demonstration of basic rocketry & science and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flights & demonstration.
ISRO has also deployed ‘Space on Wheels’, an exhibition bus from Bengaluru to impart better exposure on space programme of India to the students from Northeastern  states of India.
Raju further informed that NESAC has been identified as a nodal centre for implementing the Vikram Sarabhai Centenary Celebration programme for all eight Northeastern states of India.
To mark the occasion of the birth centenary of the ‘father of space programme’ in India, late Vikram Sarabhai, he further appealed to all the principals/heads of schools in Meghalaya to take this opportunity & send their students to visit NESAC on the occasion, where they will also get opportunity to interact with senior scientists from ISRO & NESAC.
Venue of programme is NESAC outreach facility, Umiam.
Recently from January 2 to 4, NESAC had organised a similar function for  Tripura at Agartala which was  appreciated by the students and teachers of  Tripura.
