SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Nongiew Association (HNA) on Friday alleged that the office of Hima Mylliem has misused the scheme sanctioned by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) for the construction of a wholesale market in Iewduh.
The general secretary of the association Korbar Lyngdoh Nonglait said that the wholesale market should have been constructed in the form of a hall with no stalls.
“But we found that it is different. Instead of an open space (hall), we found that there are stalls. We do not know for whom these stalls are meant for”, Nonglait said.
He said that the acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem, Ainam Syiem refused to meet them. Nonglait was aghast at the lackadaisical attitude of the acting Syiem.
Nonglait said, “We approached his office but he did not say anything and did not even address our grievances.”
