CoMSO wants action against author of ISC textbook

SHILLONG: Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO) on Friday demanded stringent action against the publisher and author of Sociology textbook for Class XII of ISC which has several errors concerning Khasis.
CoMSO chairman, Robertjune Kharjahrin said, “We hope the state government will take stringent action against the publisher and author of the textbook and at the same time, we want the particular textbook scrapped”. The textbook – ISC Sociology for Class XII – written by one Manjir Ghosh is being taught at Pine Mount School and Loreto Convent School in the city.
The book states that Khasi (spelt Khashi) tribe ‘is the inhabitant of Jaintia Hills district of Assam.’
