KSU distributes essential items

SHILLONG: The Khasi Students Union (KSU) Mawlai Circle has donated some essential items to Ferrando Transit Shelter Home at Mawlai Mawroh and Spring of Hope at Mawlai Dong Pata.
In a statement issued here, the KSU Mawlai circle donated sacks of rice, pulses, potato, oil besides others and the members also followed social distancing, protocol issued by the government. The KSU has urged other families to come forward and help make contributions for the poor and the needy who are facing problems during such crisis.
Meanwhile, members of the R&R Colony Welfare Society along with local volunteers distributed essential commodities such as rice, dal, salt, mustard oil, etc., to the poorer section of the locality who have been deprived of their daily wages due to prevailing situation concerning coronavirus.
The food items were donated by Health Minister AL Hek, Charles Pyngrope, MLA of 21-Nongthymmai Constituency and R&R Colony Welfare Society. The organisation also requested people to donate for those in distress in their own capacity.
