3 Ri Bhoi localities sanitised

NONGPOH: Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohtun accompanied by the MDC, Victor Rani, on Monday organised disinfection at Patharkhmah market, including Patharkhmah CHC and Warmawsaw PHC.
Disinfectants were sprayed in these areas of the constituency as these are the most-visited and vulnerable.
Earlier, Sohtun had also conducted spraying of disinfectants on NH-6.
The disinfectants were sprayed by the Fire & Emergency Services of Ri Bhoi district in collaboration with the CMJ Breweries, Byrnihat.
Speaking to media persons, the MLA said that after visiting these areas earlier, he felt that these should be disinfected.
Therefore, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or any other disease, it is very important to disinfect and make these areas safe for people, Sohtun said.
Regarding the requirement of ambulance in the constituency, he said that he had already requested Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma to provide one 108 Ambulance procured from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund recently at Patharkhmah CHC.
Further, he also expressed gratitude to the government and the chief minister for their assurance to seriously look into the requirements of the constituency at the earliest.
