Cabinet nod to Khyllep’s appointment

SHILLONG: The State Cabinet has approved the name of retired officer, W Khyllep as the Commissioner and Secretary of the law department on contractual basis for a period of six months.
Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong informed that the post was lying vacant after his retirement in February and due to his experience, he is appointed as the Commissioner and Secretary of law department.
Filing of returns extended
In view of the prevailing situation, the Cabinet also approved the request of the petrol pump association to extend the date for filing of returns.
Tynsong said that the last date for filing of returns was March 31 but in view of the prevailing situation, the association urged the government to extend the date and it extended it to May 15.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister further informed that the State government has extended financial assistance to those who do not avail state or central scheme. He said that 1,84,184 families have applied and they are entitled to receive Rs 700 per week of the lockdown period from March 21 till April 14.
