TURA: The district administration of West Garo Hills, in a meeting with the representatives of the local development committee and executive magistrates on Wednesday, deliberated on the requirement for close coordination as more stranded people will be arriving in the district in the coming days.
The meeting was held at the District Auditorium of Tura.
Informing that more stranded people are about to come to the district from outside the states in coming days, the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh, briefed that the district administration needs to work in close coordination with the members of locality development committees since these people have to be put up in community quarantine centres, which will be looked after by the locals in terms of providing food and other requirements.
However, regular screening, health check-up and monitoring will be done by medical personnel.
Lamenting lack of requirement of facilities in the district, he said that the government schools and institutions which have been identified and designated as quarantine centres mostly have common toilets.
Therefore, many people cannot be put together, he said.
Further, he informed that the identified Corona Care Centres in the district are being kept solely for the COVID-19 positive cases if any.
They cannot be used as quarantine centres for those people coming from outside the state, the DC said.

Meanwhile, the District Surveillance Officer for COVID-19, Mukrang Terang, highlighted on how to update Home Visit by using https://coronamegh.cdfi.co.in and the process to access the webapp and monitor them every day with real time information access.
