Heavy rain lashes SWKH

Mawkyrwat: Heavy rainfall continues to lash the region for the third day on Saturday, resulting in rise in water level in rivers, streams and landslide in various parts of South West Khasi Hills.
The road from Rangthong to Nongkynbah and Sarin has been cut off after a series of landslides on Thursday and Friday night leaving the people of Nongkynbah, Nongpdengkynbah and Sarin stranded.
They are not able to move to Rangthong or Mawkyrwat. The headman of Sarin village, Blossding Wanniang said that he had taken up the matter with the concerned authority and the PWD (roads).
Landslides were also reported along the Mawkyrwat-Nongstoin road at Mawranglang village, however vehicle can still pass through the road.
