GUWAHATI: Meghalaya government has decided to post some Border Wing Home Guards at police station and police outposts in unfenced areas along India-Bangladesh border in Jainitia Hills and Khasi Hills areas to compensate for shortage of manpower in police force and village defence parties (VDPs).

The Home Minister of Meghalaya, Lahkmen Rymbui has tweeted that the personnel from Border Wing Home Guards are being deployed along the border with Bangladesh in Jaintia Hills and Khasi Hills to augment security and safety measures for the people residing along the unfenced areas of the international border.
