SHILLONG: The North-Eastern Hills University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA) has once again expressed its displeasure against the Vice Chancellor for not depositing two years’ funds of NEHUTA in the PM CARES account.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Association said, “The NEHUTA is concerned at the insensitivity of the incumbent Vice Chancellor Prof. SK Srivastava who chose to remain unmoved at our humanitarian appeal to deposit two years of earmarked funds of NEHUTA to the PM CARES. This inaction speaks volume about the arrogance and incompetence of the incumbent Vice Chancellor in disregarding NEHUTA’s public call to support the cause of the nation in this grave hour of humanitarian crisis.”
Joining the call for supporting national relief work under COVID-19 and other humanitarian disasters, one-day salary of the members of NEHU fraternity have already been deposited to PM CARES. However, the Vice Chancellor is playing deaf to the appeal to contribute two years of NEHUTA grant to deposit in PM CARE, NEHUTA said in the statement.
The NEHUTA also asked the Vice Chancellor to deposit the money in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund if he had any hesitation in depositing the fund to PM CARES.
