NONGPOH: Ri Bhoi Police on Thursday issued a notice to Lester Nongbet, president of the KSU Umsning Circle, in connection with the case related to seizure of a vehicle from Uttar Pradesh carrying passengers to Silchar at Umran on June 1 at around 11:30 pm.
The KSU leader, who has been booked under several sections of the IPC, has been directed to appear before the Investigating officer, Umsning Outpost on Friday for interrogation failing which legal actions will be initiated.
It may be recalled that on June 1, activists of the KSU and FKJGP Umsning circles had apprehended 16 people from Uttar Pradesh on their way to Silchar, alleging that they were sleeping and loitering around Umran petrol pump without adhering to COVID-19 protocols.
