Nongpoh: The Ri Bhoi District Magistrate has directed all shops operating from fixed premises in the district to open from 8 am to 8 pm.
However, markets, shops and services in Nongpoh Town and Umsning Town are allowed to open as per arrangement of the ‘Market COVID-19 Management Committee’ of Nongpoh Town Committee and Umsning Town Committee in collaboration with the village Dorbars, a statement said on Monday.
The District Magistrate has directed cyber cafés, gaming parlours, jackpot parlours, lottery counters and children play areas to remain closed.
Restaurants and food stalls, however, have been directed to only provide takeaway and home delivery services.
“Moreover, operation of saloons and beauty parlours shall be in strict compliance of the SOP as advised by the Government of Meghalaya in Health & Family Welfare Department,” the statement added.
The District Magistrate has also urged everyone to strictly adhere to health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
