TURA: Two Garo Hills based organisations have sought a complete clampdown on entry of outsiders into the region citing a particular case where action was not taken against an offender.
According to a joint statement issued by the GSU and the GSMC, a fish seller from Hatsingimari, Assam had visited various places in West and South Garo Hills districts ending up at Asugre village on June 19, but no action was taken against the offender.
The organisations, while claiming that such incidents are not being prevented, urged officials to act against such violations in future and to deport such offenders to their place of origin.
