Plea to upgrade health sub-centre

SHILLONG: The Chairman of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Pyniaid Sing Syiem, has written to the Health Minister, AL Hek, to upgrade the Health Sub-centre at Sohryngkham to Primary Health Centre.
He said the health centre lacks adequate manpower, beds and medicine.
Syiem also sent a letter to Deputy Chief Minister in-charge, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department, Prestone Tynsong, to upgrade the Sohryngkham Veterinary Stockman Centre to Veterinary Dispensary to cater to an increasing population.
He also proposed upgradation of infrastructure for Piggery Farm, Poultry Farm Production’s to Veterinary Farm at Mawryngkneng.
Syiem has requested Tynsong to instruct his office to provide infrastructure with modern equipment at the earliest so as to enable the staff to continue their service for the smooth functioning of the Veterinary Farm.
