SHILLONG: Giving voice to the lockdown-induced ordeals of the students, the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has urged North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) to come clean on the holding of examinations.
With many students looking forward to a word from the university in this regard, a delegation from ABVP on Monday met NEHU Vice-Chancellor, SK Srivastava, and requested for a notification from the university at the earliest.
“A circular from the university notifying the standard procedures that will be followed by the university regarding the exam and evaluation criteria at the earliest was requested to the VC,” a statement from ABVP said.
“This information shared as early as possible would help the students have some clarity on their future and help them clear off the cloud of uncertainty that has been looming above them regarding the examination process,” the statement added.
The ABVP said that while some state and central universities have already issued notifications regarding the standard operating procedures to hold examinations, some have indicated possibilities of direct promotion for the final-year students.
Meanwhile, the ABVP said that they were assured by Srivastava where the latter had said NEHU will soon clear air on matters related to examination.
“He assured the delegation that NEHU would very soon come out with a clear picture once the matter is discussed in the academic council as well as the Executive Committee,” the statement said.
