8988 tests conducted for COVID-19 in Guwahati on Thursday

GUWAHATI: In a proactive attempt to contain rapid spread of COVID-19 positive cases in Guwahati, Assam Health Department today conducted 8988 more tests in the city.

The authorities has set up 31 COVID Care Centres across all wards of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) to facilitate people to come forward on their own to undergo swab tests for COVID-19. In addition people can give swab samples at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Mohendra Mohan Choudhury (MMC) Hospital in the city.

The authorities will introduce ‘Q COVID-19 Ag test’ model for rapid testing of samples in the city from tomorrow. The new kit will give results of the test within an hour. It will help carry out more number of tests in the city every day.
