Baghmara-Moheshkola road link snapped due to heavy rains

TURA: There is no let up in the heavy monsoon rains lashing the Garo Hills region in the last few days. As flood situation has worsened the plains belt areas, the main road connecting Baghmara to Moheskola in remote south Garo Hills has been snapped after a major culvert collapsed on Thursday.
The Executive Engineer PWD Roads in Baghmara Division has informed in an official communique that due to the collapse of RCC slab culvert No.29/4 at Dilsingre village on Baghmara Moheshkhola Road, portion of the road between Dambuk and Rongara has been temporarily closed for plying of all vehicular traffic with immediate effect until further orders.
.Another damage has occurred on another road linking Wagesik to the Baghmara block.

The PWD Roads issued another notification informing that because of a flash flood, the road formation at Chainage 1985m of 2nd km of Block Development Office to Wagesik road has been totally washed out. Hence the road portion from RC Compound Junction to Wagesik is closed to all the vehicular traffic including two wheelers with immediate effect.
