GUWAHATI: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma has assured Assam government of smooth movement of essential goods and medicines from Guwahati to Barak Valley as well as other NE states via Meghalaya.

The assurance came in the wake of a phone call from Assam Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal with request for smooth movements of essential items, fuels and medicines from Assam (Guwahati) to Barak Valley via Meghalaya.

Meanwhile, MP from Silchar Lok Sabha constituency, Dr Rajdeep Rai lauded the Assam Chief Minister for speaking to his Meghalaya counterpart on such an important issue concerning the general public.

“Thank @sarbanandsonwal ji for speaking on a very important issue bothering citizens and bureaucrats alike. This will help keep a leash on prices of essential commodities, food grains, petroleum products and pharmacy supplies!” tweeted the MP from Silchar.
