Arrangements for opening of shops

SHILLONG: After the end of the 48-hour lockdown triggered due to the sudden surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills has ordered that identified shops operating from fixed premises will open as scheduled from 8 am to 8 pm.
However, shops in Police Bazaar, GS Road, Keating Road, Jail Road, Motphran, Jhalupara, Mawbah, Barapathar, Anjalee Point, Mawlonghat, Iew Mawlong, Cantonment, Jeep Stand, Garikhana and Paltan Bazaar will be regulated by the administration.
The order will not apply to Ftr BSF campus in Umpling, which is declared as a containment area.
The order further stated that private office establishments are allowed to operate with 33 per cent strength.
Identified weekly markets except border haats and markets located in the interstate border are also permitted to open, the order added.
Cyber cafés, gaming and jackpot parlours, and lottery counter will remain closed.
According to the order, standalone shops with serial numbers “2” and “4” will open on July 17, 21, 23 and 25, while shops with serial numbers “1” and “3” will open on July 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24.
In malls and complexes, except Glory’s Plaza, JM Towers, Jivan Ram Complex (Bhutia Market) and Khasi Market, shops with serial numbers “1”, “3” and “5” will open on July 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24, numbers “2”, “4” and “6” will open on July 15, 17, 21, 23 and 25.
However, shops in Glory’s Plaza, JM Towers except COSMOS and Jivan Ram Complex, shop number “6” will open on July 15 and 23, number “1” will open on July 16 and 24, number “2” will open on July 17 and 25, number “3” on July 18 and 20, number “4” on July 21 and number “5” on July 22.
Gaming arcades, children’s play area and cinema hall inside shopping complexes and malls will remain closed, the order said.
“No loitering is allowed in the shopping malls and complexes and only customers shall enter to make purchase and exit immediately thereafter without fail,” it added.
For Khasi Market below Jaiaw Taxi Stand at Motphran, shops with serial numbers “1” and “4” will open on July 15, 18, 21, 24, 27 and 30, numbers “2” and “5” on July 16, 22, 25, 28 and 31  and serial numbers “3” and “6” will open on July 17, 20, 23, 29 July and August 1.
Shops located in Jhalupara, Mawbah and Barapathar shops with serial numbers “2” and “4” will open on July 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 July and numbers “1” and “3” will open on July 15, 17, 21, 23 and 25.
Wholesale shops
Wholesale shops operating from fixed premises in areas falling under Jeep Stand, Garikhana and Paltan Bazaar will open between 8 am and 8 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  However, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, they will be open exclusively for doorstep delivery to retailers, the order said.
