GUWAHATI: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday greeted the Yimchunger community of the state on the occasion of Metemneo festival .
‘Metemneo festival greetings to the Yimchunger community. May the festival bring new beginnings of blessings in our lives. I hope and pray that we overcome this pandemic and celebrate together in the future,’ Rio tweeted.
Metemneo is a traditional five-day harvest festival of the Yimchunger tribe which is celebrated with much fanfare and grandeur. The festival is usually celebrated in the second week of August after the millet crop is harvested.
