TURA: The North Garo Hills District Administration has warned action against those spreading rumours in the district against health workers on social media.
The warning from the DC comes after it was learnt that some people were passing derogatory remarks against some doctors and medical staff. “Citizens are requested not to post such false and baseless allegations against health workers and other COVID-19 warriors on social media. The District Administration will be compelled to file FIR against those individuals who post such unnecessary allegations and negative remarks against health workers,” the warning stated.
“It will be treated as preventing a public servant from performing official duty as defined in Section 188 of Indian Penal Code and as per relevant provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act,” it added.
