GUWAHATI: The Meghalaya Government today decided to reopen the gymnasiums and yoga centres which have remained closed due to the nationwide lockdown to curb COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said.

Meghalaya has also decided to increase the number of days for stand-alone shops to open in market areas. The Deputy Commissioners will issue necessary notification in this regard, Sangma further informed.

‘Government has decided that gyms and centres for yoga/aerobics will be allowed to re-open. Further, the number of days for stand-alone shops to open in market areas will be increased. DC to issue necessary notifications,’ Sangma tweeted.

The Government of Meghalaya’s decision for reopening of gyms and yoga centres comes after the Central Government’s directive to open up gyms and yoga centres as a part of unlock strategy from August 5.
