6 more die of COVID19 in Assam, death toll mounts to 175

GUWAHATI: Six more persons died due to CVID19 pandemic in Assam on Friday taking the death toll up to 175.

The deceased were identified as Rahamot Ali Choudhury (45) of Hailakandi; Abdul Barik (38) of Kamrup (M); Benjamin Terang (56) of Karbi Anglong; Osman Ali (56), Renuka Bora (81) of Kamrup (R); Abdul Rahim (72) of Goalpara

Meanwhile, 2706 COVID cases detected out of 49603 tests done in last 24 hours in the state. The Positivity rate has been recorded at 5.45%.

Out of the new cases 719 have been detected in Kamrup (M), 264 in Dibrugarh, 258 in Kamrup (R) and 145 in Nagaon.

On the other hand, 2310 COVID-19 patients were discharged today from various hospitals in the state. Pleased to see that so many people have recovered. I wish them good health & long life ahead
