One murdered
On August 13, around 7.30 pm, about six to seven miscreants went to the house of Innang G Sangma (62) at Tatolgre village, North Garo Hills, dragged him out of his house and killed him by slitting his throat, alleging that he practised witchcraft, and fled away. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent for post-mortem examination.

Body found
On August 12, local residents of Law-U-Sib, Shillong, found the body of a premature baby from the locality behind Forest Office, Madanrting, Shillong, and buried it near a stream, in order to the stray dogs from consuming it. After being informed, police exhumed the body, conducted necessary formalities and sent the cadaver to Civil Hospital Shillong for post-mortem examination.

One injured in attack
Krestarwell Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that on August 12, around 8 pm, Khrawdingstar Wahlang (20) of Mawdoh village in West Khasi Hills, who was in inebriated condition, threatened his neighbours and when the complainant intervened, he attacked him with a ‘dao’. As a result, the complainant sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Nongstoin.

Threat call
Happy Rymbai lodged a complaint that on August 15, around 12.35 pm, he received a phone call from one Riton Sna, who threatened to kill him alleging that the complainant took the body part from the vehicle of the accused and fitted it in Rymbai’s.

Loot
Bikram Patnaik lodged a complaint that on August 14, around 5.40 am, while Patnaik and his handyman Rabi Patnaik were proceeding from Imphal towards Guwahati in his vehicle (AS-25CC-5507), a car (ML-11-4572), occupied by five unknown persons, waylaid his vehicle at Umtyra, East Jaintia Hills and looted Rs 7,000 and two mobile phones. Later, police apprehended two of the miscreants along with the Maruti car and also recovered the mobile phones, while three miscreants managed to escape.

Bridge destroyed
Banshanbor Turnia, HYC Ngunraw Unit member lodged a complaint on August 13 that on July 25, around 10 pm, miscreant(s) destroyed the iron hanging bridge which connects the Hima Langrin and Hima Maharam at Wahrilang Sdat Photklar.

Unauthorised transactions
Khlainbor Warjri lodged a complaint that on June 26, a transaction of Rs 3,555 was done through his ATM Card/Net Banking without his knowledge.
Sahabaz Alam lodged a complaint that on August 13, miscreant(s) hacked his Bank Account (Bank of India) and withdrew Rs 46,000 without his knowledge.

Theft
B Khyriemmujat of Laitkor, East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on August 8 and 12, miscreant(s) stole clothes, bags, shoes, LED TV, heater, dinner sets, etc.
