SHILLONG: As COVID-19 cases rise in an alarming fashion in the city, the MarBa Hub Management authority has put in place a mechanism to ensure proper disinfection of the mall premises, while also urging the people, who have been complaining about standing in long queues, to understand that situations like this call for unprecedented steps.
“While complaints are often heard from people having to stand in long queues (maintaining safe distance) to register their names and phone numbers, it must be understood that the Management is taking these extra precautions and keeping additional staff for the safety of the people at large”, the management said in a statement.
Under the mechanism, shops and premises are disinfected twice daily — morning and evening — besides all establishments also adhering to all health protocols.
The MarBa Hub, through MEVA Enterprise, which is an authorised franchisee of Sanytyse (a company consisting of Doctors and Chemical experts for disinfection and sanitisation), has had several rounds of consultation before opening the mall to public, ten days after the government permitted standalone shops and shopping complexes to open in Police Bazar and other commercial areas.
The managing director of MarBa Hub, Maven Marbaniang, said that in order to ensure that the mall is a safe place for its consumers to shop for their necessities, MarBa Hub had consulted several experts and companies from across the country dealing in disinfection and sanitisation.
