GUWAHATI:  The Oil India Limited (OIL) has informed that it will resume the well killing operation in Baghjan and have already initiated the process for the same  after the attempt made yesterday came to a nought.

“After yesterday’s inspection and assessment of the well head and subsequent discussions amongst Alert, ONGC CMT and OIL’s technical team, the possibility of repairing the  damaged  casing head  housing is being looked into and arrangements for the same is underway.  Arrangement for cement “pack off’ of 5-1/2″ x 9-5/8″annular section up to surface is in progress to provide more integrity to the entire killing operations. Well killing operations would be attempted once these jobs are completed,” an OIL statement informed today.
