SHILLONG: West Garo Hills Police has arrested one of the three persons who had allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl in Phulbari, West Garo Hills, on August 20.
Police said that the person was arrested on Thursday while assuring that the remaining two will be arrested soon.
“We have got some clues and we are making good progress in the case,” police said.
The 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by a group of men last week.
The people allegedly involved in the case are Habibul Islam, Mokabbir Hussain and Ishraful Hoque.
Meanwhile, police has also made it clear that they have taken up a case against some persons who revealed the identity of the girl on social media platforms.
