SHILLONG: In what can be called a bolt-from-the-blue asseveration, the members of 100 Drums Wangala Organising Committee have decided to not organise100 Drums Wangala Festival on November 12, 13 and 14.
A statement on Wednesday said the resolution was made taking into account the prevailing COVID-19 scenario in state.
The Wangala is the most significant post-harvest festival of the Garos generally held in the second week of November every year.
It is a thanksgiving ceremony to Misi Saljong, also known as Pattigipa Ra·rongipa (The Great Giver), for having blessed the people with rich harvest of the season.
