SHILLONG: Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner has informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered for special summary revision of electoral rolls from November 16 to December 15, 2020, in all polling stations in the district. The qualifying date has been set as January 1, 2021.
Applications for new enrolment of people, who will be attaining 18 years of age as on the qualifying date, correction of entries in the electoral roll, removal of names and transposition of names from one section to another within the same Assembly constituency, will be taken up.
In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the booth-level officers will not be able to visit the polling stations and villages frequently. So, applicants have to visit the nearby Common Service Centre (CSC).
