Panel to examine SOP on reopening of religious places

Shillong: The state government has constituted a committee to re-examine the SOP for reopening of religious places, with Chief Secretary MS Rao as Chairman, Secretary, Home (Political) Department, CVD Diengdoh as Member Secretary and members comprising of DHS (MI) Dr Aman War, President, Shillong All Faiths Forum, Rev. Dr P. Lyngdoh, Vice-President, Shillong All Faiths Forum, Fr. John Madur, Secretary, Shillong All Faiths Forum, Rev. EH Kharkongor and Joint Secretary, Shillong All Faiths Forum, Naba Bhattacharjee.
The state government has expressed optimism that places of worship may be reopened in the state in October if there is an improvement in the COVID situation.
