TURA: The GSU from Williamnagar in East Garo Hills on Wednesday called on Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe to look into the immediate appointment of a doctor at Samanda PHC which has been functioning without one since August this year.

In their complaint to the Deputy Commissioner, the union said, “It has been over a month since the PHC was left without a doctor and this is causing great hardships to the general public residing in the area”.

The union reminded that earlier, the Samanda Regional Unit had also raised the issue before the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) but there had been no response or any action taken in this regard.

Stating that the absence of a doctor is affecting the service provided to the people, the union urged the deputy commissioner to personally look into the matter at the earliest.
