GUWAHATI: As passenger flights services between Dibrugarh in Eastern Assam and Shillong in Meghalaya under UDAN 4.0 Scheme of Government of India will soon start, the people will be able to fly between these two places in the shortest possible time, according to a tweet by Airport Authority of India (AAI).
AAI on its Twitter handle wrote, ‘UDAN 4.0 brings regions close, destinations closer! The connectivity between Dibrugarh, an emerging industrial hub of North East India and Shillong, a fast emerging education hub for the entire North East region, will open new horizons for these two places.’
The 4th round of UDAN was launched by the Union aviation ministry in December 2019 with a special focus on Northeastern, hilly states, and islands.
While Shillong is known as a must visit place for its enchanting destinations, the tea town of Dibrugarh in Eastern Assam is a hub surrounded on lush green tea estates, oil fields and ethnic villages.
