Govt doles out Rs 1 cr as ex gratia payment

SHILLONG: The Revenue and Disaster Management department has sanctioned an advance fund of Rs 1 crore to the three deputy commissioners for disbursement of the same as ex gratia payment to the next of kin of the people, who had lost their lives in the recent rain-related incidents across the state.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Kyrmen Shylla, informed that the department has doled out an advance fund of Rs 50,00,000 to East Khasi Hills DC, Rs 30,00,000 to South West Khasi Hills DC and Rs 20,00,000 to West Khasi Hills DC.
The advance fund will be for used to make ex gratia payment to the next of kin of the deceased and to provide immediate relief to the affected families.
